The Rights Information Center NGO implemented the Free Legal Aid to Conscripts training in Goris from March 11th to the 13th. The training brought together 11 volunteers in the Syunik Region and offered a discourse about human rights and other important topics.
The participants engaged in hands on activities and interactive scenarios on a variety of different topics including human rights, judicial protection, public awareness of the law, and other legal issues that conscripts face. In the coming months, these volunteers will monitor court sessions in Syunik region that involve soldiers and conscripts to reveal and eventually remedy issues that conscripts face when entering the legal system as accused persons.

The volunteers have been trained to search for any discrepancies or unfairness within the current legal system, and will report these issues to ITEK and the program manager.
