Youth final conference in Jermuk

From April 28- 30, 2017 Rights Information Center NGO hosted the closing conference of the “Youth awareness on electoral processes” project in the city of Jermuk. 30 active youth from Goris and Kapan participated in that discussion.
 On the first day, the groups of youth presented the outcomes of their trainings on the electoral processes which they organized at universities. The issues raised and people’s positive or negative reactions to the electoral processes were also discussed during the presentations.
At the start of the second day, famous journalist and social activist, Tatul Hakobyan participated as a speaker. He presented the need to compile authorities in the democratic way and the importance of fare elections. The youth asked interesting questions and presented their opinions to the speaker.

Debates held in Goris and Kapan¸Syunik Region¸ Armenia


Rights Information Center NGO's ‘Youth Awareness on the electoral processes’ program organized debates and discussions between the parties, candidates, and representatives nominated by unions for the April 2nd election to the National Assembly. The debates were organized in Goris (March 17) and Kapan (March 21). Discussions provided a dialogue between the public and the political parties and alliances.

30 young people have been trained on topics about political system and about electoral right.


On the 5th of March, 2017 the second training during the “Youth awareness about electoral processes” has taken place in the conference hall of “Goris” hotel.. Participants were introduced to the new electoral procedures and voter rights and process as well as the structure of the system, political party missions and alliances. There were short video presentations, active discussions, questions and answers. The trainer was Daniel Ionnisyan.
At the end of each session, Kapan and Goris were divided into 5 groups to begin organizing similar training for their peers and students.
The goal is to make the information available for at least 2,500 citizens and have more informed citizens about their rights and the electoral procedure.

What profession to choose!

The Rights Information Center NGO organized a debate with young students in Goris.
The debate goal was to try to understand young people's preferences about career choices.

Before starting the discussion, a game was organized which revealed the characteristics and the importance of the various professions in the most extreme situations.
The debate was quite interesting, because each profession had to show its necessity and relevance. The discussion was very heated as each participant opined their thoughts and tried to reveal the maximum effectiveness of any profession.
