In the First Instance Court of Syunik region 505 criminal court sessions were scheduled from February to April¸ 2017. Information about 257 (50.8 %) sessions was restricted¸ this means that there was no information about when¸ where will take place the court sessions and what is the nature of the court session. The mentioned circumstance is a big problem to implement monitoring of the court sessions.
In this mentioned period in 17 court cases about which the information was aopen¸ conscripts were involved¸ who mainly were accused with the articles 358¸ 359¸ 360¸377¸ 177 of the RA Criminal Code. 13 of this court cases were postponed.
The observations are implemented in the framework of ‘Free legal Assistance Monitoring 2’ program supported by NED(National Endowment For Democracy)
